Samm-Lor - For relatively short distances,
you can take these saam-lor (pedaled tricycle or 3 wheel) for baht 20 - 30 per person.
Fare may increase to baht 40 - 50 per person for a longer ride.
It's
a nice leisurely way to look around.
Tuk-Tuk : A motorized saam-lor, the Thai word for these vehicle which is known as a tuk-tuk. Prices are not standard but the ride is quicker.
The least that you can hope to pay is 20 baht.
Always bargain with a smile.
Red
Cab "Zee-Lor" : The most
common means of transport.
"Zee-Lor" (literally means, "four wheel", they are all in vivid colors and
look something like pick-up trucks with a roof on the back. The driver and
one passengers sit on benches along the two sides of the back of the truck. Sometimes, these red cabs are mistaken for a regular buses
because of their size. Others use it as a communal taxi. Before boarding,
ask what route it will take. Pay the driver baht 10 if there are other
passengers. If you or your group are the only passengers, let him name his
price - and bargain until both you and the driver are satisfied. The

Bus
transfer : Arcade buses station. The arcade is located on the
eastern end of Kaew Nawarat Road near the super highway intersection
(highway 118). Call 053-242664 to check schedules. The bus trip from
Chiangmai to Bangkok takes about 9 hours. Most bus companies provide
transfer services to and from the arcade. The majority buses companies are
located in the anusarn market and Saeng Tawn Cinema areas.
Chang Puak Bus Station located on the southern of Chotana Road, (
053-211586) Buses ply two routes to and from Chiangmai with the northern
route (highway 107) passing through Mae Rim, Mae Taeng, Chiang Dao,
Chaiprakarn, Fang, Mae Ai and Thaton from where passengers can take a long

Train Transfer : The Chiangmai - Bangkok route is serviced by three
classes that operate from 5.00 am - 10.00 p.m. There are express,
Sprinter, and special Express classes. Phone reservation are not accepted.

Airport Transfer :
Chiangmai international airport handles both
domestic and international flights. Traveling to and from the airport can
be done through Hotel vehicles, private limousine or the song-taew
